As I predicted a few weeks ago, the entire subdivision that I work for will be folded within the next two months. It’s been announced, it’s official: I will no longer have a day job in children’s television come October.
I will be writing about what this says about the broader Canadian media landscape and the illusion that there is support for the Canadian creative industry, but for now, I’d like it to be known that I’m open to opportunities.
I don’t know if there’s much business in the analysis of fandom dynamics and the pitfalls of fandom management, but I know that my insights are valuable. My ideas are valuable, and my expertise is valuable, even beyond fandom.
I know many of you work in the industry, so if you have any tips, heads up, or leads on any work where you think my expertise would be valuable, feel free to contact me. I’m currently Toronto based, and open to opportunities in writing, consulting, media, or anywhere else you think my analytical perspective might be useful.
